12:00pm – 1:30pm – The power of YES! with Colleen Laliberte
Colleen will lead this workshop that she created with Keith Johnstone, one of the few internationally recognized authorities in improvisation. She’ll explore how to recognize fear and how it kills our ideas through a series of games, exercises and discussion. This is for anyone looking to find new ways of creating work in any field. 5:00pm – 6:30pm – Improv: a step in the right direction with Tommy Lewey
Using improvisation as a cornerstone of the choreographic process and the creation of new work. A workshop for theater or dance choreographers and students.

Saturday, May 25, 2013:

9:30am – 10:45am – The Evans Technique with Sara Yanney-Chantanabut
Applying Laban and Bartenieff movement analysis in choreography and dancing. Excellent for dancers, actors, movement teachers, and technically minded individuals.

11:30am – 1:00pm – Intro to Aerial Silks with Christina Feinberg
Learn how to use special fabric suspended from the ceiling to wrap, suspend, fall, swing, and spiral into and out of various positions. Open to all ages and skill levels.

1:00pm – 2:30pm – QLab with IC Resident Designer Ian Garrett
“Q-Lab is the award winning software used to create rich multi-media designs for live performances and installations…it is the tool of choice for many of the world’s most prominent designers” (Figure53.com) Ian will walk participants through the basics of Q-lab. Please bring your own Mac OS X to fully experience this workshop. Perfect for designers, design students and curious computer geeks. “Q-Lab is the award winning software used to create rich multi-media designs for live performances and installations…it is the tool of choice for many of the world’s most prominent designers”  Ian will walk participants through the basics of Q-lab. We will explore the dynamics of creating new work in unique locations. Joshua will ask participants, “What could you do in this location, but nowhere else?
