Sadie Johnston joins IC for her first Convergence

By caitlin on April 27, 2014

Meet SadieJohnston Headshot

Sadie Johnston is from Toronto, Ontario, and will be graduating from York University’s Theatre Production program in June. She has experience in management and technician roles, and the bulk of that is in sound, set and costume construction.  Her previous credits include Assistant Costume Designer for Abigail’s Party (Precisely Peter Productions), Technical Director for Road (Theatre@York) and Sound Technician at World Stage Design (Royal Welsh College). Sadie will be working closely with fellow intern Laura Andrew and resident designer Ian Garrett to help our participants’ projects come to life. She will work on the Umbrella Project and closely with Sarah O’Brien and Andrew Simon on their Side Projects.

Sadie says, “I’m looking forward to….working on multiple pieces at once. I’m excited to learn how to compartmentalize and multitask on different shows, rather than focusing on one at a time.  I have friends that have worked on Indy Convergence in the past, but what really made me want to participate was being around the convergence when it was in Toronto. Just being around when it was happening meant I was involved in a really great atmosphere.” Meet Sadie and all of our other participants at our Open Lab Performance on May 17 at 7PM in the Wheeler Arts Community Theater located at 1035 Sanders Street.
